Artist Name: Laila Lumera
Laila Lumera is a Canadian singer/songwriter and co-founder of the Blacksmith Society record label, based in Toronto. She was born in Kumasi, Ghana in 1998 and began her music career in 2020. Laila began singing at 5 years old and throughout her childhood was introduced to R&B, Jazz, Gospel, and Hip-Hop; all of which inspire her music today. Her sound is mainly a fusion of early 2000s R&B, modern Pop and Afrobeats music. Laila’s style can be compared to artists like Rihanna, Ariana Grande, and Rema. In each song, Laila’s emotions work harmoniously with the instrumental, creating an array of engaging experiences for the listener. In 2021, Laila Lumera and Toronto artists Shaman Nostra, Spliffon, and Von Blanco, started a record label called Blacksmith Society. Their goal is to unify and shed light on Canadian artists with talent, skill and passion for their craft and give them the support and acknowledgment they deserve.
